According to the European Medical Association, criminal groups are currently trying to earn owing to counterfeit medicines sale for the so-called swine flu. Such preparations may contain a number of substances - from the usual sugar to rat poison, experts say.
In warning that has been spread by Association, the matter is that those who buy counterfeits or copies of medicine for swine flu, risk their lives and the lives of their family. Most of these drugs are distributed through the Internet, and are offered at a price which is lower than in pharmacies. Specialists of Association have estimated that recently drug for A/H5N1 flu Tamiflu is ahead of Viagra in the number of advertising in the Internet and spam, reports ForUm.
In general, most of all people are trying to purchase counterfeits in those countries whose governments have bought the insufficient number of drugs for treatment of swine flu, said the European Medical Association.
In addition to warnings, experts do not advise to buy pills that allegedly improve the immune system in a few hours, because, most likely, it is a lie.
Swindlers are selling such pills and are trying in this way to benefit from the epidemic. The same is with expensive disinfectants that supposedly kill influenza virus. Experts note that the usual soap is effective too.
As a reminder, on October 28 flu epidemic in the Ternopil Region, which had appeared a week ago, mowed down nearly 10,000 of residents. Moreover - unknown virus has already killed seven people. Ministry of Health has confirmed 20 deaths from pneumonia in Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv Regions.
