Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kostiantyn Hryschenko and British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs William Hague have discussed the prospects for the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, in particular, in the context of support by London of Kyiv's EU integration course.

According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, at the talks held during Hryshchenko's visit to Britain, the leaders of the two countries' foreign Ministries reached agreement on the need to step up the political dialogue in the spirit of strategic partnership, Ukrinform reports.

The sides also discussed the possibility of organizing Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych's visit to London by the end of 2010.

During the meeting, Kostiantyn Hryschenko and William Hague agreed the areas of Ukrainian-British cooperation within international organizations, primarily the United Nations and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, and also discussed urgent issues in international politics, in particular, Ukrainian-Russian relations, the situation in Afghanistan, the Middle East and Transdniestria, as well as the possibility of attracting British investment in Ukraine in the context of the country's hosting the finals of the UEFA EURO 2012 European Football Championship.
