The early parliamentary elections is one of the real plans, which now exists in the surroundings of the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, said political scientist Viktor Nebozhenko, commenting on the statement of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn that the next parliamentary elections might be held in spring because, "while being at the peak of success, certain political forces is seeking to capture everything".
"Most likely, Lytvyn says not because of his fear of the political future, but it is one of the real plans, which now exists in the surrounding of Yanukovych," - he added.
Viktor Nebozhenko noted that if he was Viktor Yanukovych, he would hold local elections urgently. "And then, according to the results of these elections, he would make Lytvyn hold early elections, and after he would get rid of him" – IMC cites the political scientist as saying.
As a reminder, Parliament abolished local elections on May 30 this year. Viktor Yanukovych offers to hold the election of local authorities in autumn 2010. According to him, one should elect deputies on the majority basis, and at other local levels – according to the open party lists.
