The main oppositionist of the country, the leader of the Party of Regions Victor Yanukovych does not intend to leave Yulia Tymoshenko as Ukraine's Prime Minister if he wins at the upcoming presidential election. However, the leader of the Party of Regions did not rule out cooperation with Arseniy Yatsenyuk and Serhiy Tyhypko. He stated that in an interview with Kommersant-Ukraine.
According to Victor Yanukovych, if he is elected as President, he intends to revise the scheme of allocation of powers between the branches of the government, as well as create a united team with the Premier. "The Prime Minister should work together with me, and my election program is to be at the basis of the actions of the government" - he said.
However, Victor Yanukovych expressed confidence that his chief rival, the current Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, will not agree to this approach. "And most important thing is - even if she agrees, I will not believe her, - said Victor Yanukovych. - Because President Victor Yushchenko believed her twice, and she cheated him twice."
According to the leader of the opposition, the relationship of Victor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko do not bother him, but here the principles are the most important thing. Victor Yanukovych believes that if these principles were violated earlier, then they will be violated in the future too. "I have no trust to Tymoshenko and will not have it later", - said the leader of the Party of Regions, Podrobnosti reports.
Regarding cooperation with other presidential candidates after the election, for example, Arseniy Yatsenyuk or Serhiy Tyhypko, Victor Yanukovych noted that these "young people", who already have sufficient work experience, “have the right to pretend to higher positions." "We will see during the first round of elections how people treat them. Electors’ point of view will be taken into consideration", - he claimed.
