Executive Director of the Olympic Games of the International Olympic Committee, Gilbert Felli visited Western Ukraine. Working visit of the representative of the International Olympic Committee was made under preparation for the application from our country to host the Winter Olympic Games in 2022, according to the press service of the National Olympic Committee.
In particular, Gilbert Felli visited Western Ukraine, where he familiarized himself with the local infrastructure, examined a number of existing sports facilities and those areas where the construction of new Olympic facilities is planned.
In particular, under the program of two-day visit, which began in Lviv, the trips of the executive director of the International Olympic Committee, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnykov, Minister for Family, Youth and Sports Ravil Safiullin and president of the National Olympic Committee Serhii Bubka in Morshin, Truskavets and Slavske and a visit to training sports facilities for winter sports Tysovets and Olympic training base FST Dynamo in the village Pylypets, UNIAN reports.
In addition, as reported by the press service of the Lviv city council, Gilbert Felli wrote in the Book of honorable guests of Lviv, where he wrote that "... it is the beginning of a long road. I wish you good luck with your project “Olympic Hope – 2022”.
Gilbert Felli has been appointed executive director of the Olympic Games of the International Olympic Committee in March 2003. He is responsible for undertaking, coordination and analysis of all activities within the organization and hosting the Olympic Games, starting from the application of the city-candidate and the ending with the holding of the Olympic Games.
