Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn has said that if Ukrainian lawmakers collect 150 signatures for the dismissal of the Verkhovna Rada chairman, the issue will be submitted for consideration by parliament on the same day.
"If there are 150 signatures, the issue will be put to the vote in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the same day," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Monday, while commenting on the demand by the BYT-Batkivschyna faction that he be dismissed following the fight in parliament on December 16.
Lytvyn noted that he has "repeatedly said that he is responsible more than anyone else for what happened in parliament."
As reported, the parliamentary faction of BYT-Batkivschyna, at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council in Kyiv on Monday, made a number of demands following the December 16 fight in the Verkhovna Rada. Among their demands is the dismissal of Lytvyn, as, in their opinion, the fight on December 16 could not happen "without the assistance of Lytvyn and the Verkhovna Rada services subordinate to him."
