The Constitutional Court of Ukraine has approved the holding of regular elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in October 2012.
The Constitutional Court of Ukraine has acknowledged the amendments in the Constitution regarding regular elections of the President, people’s deputies and local councils and the heads of councils as those which meet art. 157 and 158 of the Constitution. According to these amendments, the election of deputies will be on the last Sunday of October of the 5th year of powers, and the presidential elections will be held on the last Sunday in March of the 5th year of powers.
Local elections will be held on the last Sunday of October of the 5th year of powers of this or that council or head of the city, village or settlement, RBC-Ukraine reports.
