UEFA (The Union of European Football Associations) initiate review of legal case against the officer who accused Ukraine and Poland of the tampering of members of the UEFA Executive Committee at the election of hosts of Euro 2012.
The Union of European Football Associations say that the Union initiate review of legal case against football functionary from Cyprus Spyros Marangosa, who has accused Ukraine and Poland of the bribery of members of the UEFA Executive Committee at the election of hosts of Euro 2012, according to an official communiqué of the Union.
According to the statement, UEFA did not receive any evidence to confirm the words of Spyros Marangosa, and the functionary, "who is responsible for all charges, refused to meet with an official delegation of UEFA, which had been scheduled for Wednesday, October 27”. His lawyer informed about it.
"UEFA have no way-out except to start legal proceedings against Mr. Marangosa because we believe that this is the only way to obtain and publish any evidence that might belong to Mr. Marangosa regarding this matter", - Liga cites the communiqué as saying.
At the same time, according to the UEFA, "in order to protect the integrity of European football, UEFA are ready and willing to conduct a complete disciplinary investigation based on any evidence of elements, but not based on rumors or accusations, which can also be slander."
