Former Economy Minister Bohdan Danylyshyn asks Czech Republic to give him political asylum, according to the foreign minister, vice prime minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg.
"This case will be considered under the law," - he promised. Karel Schwarzenberg said that the issue is not within the competence of the Foreign Ministry, and abstained from his own forecasts in the case. He also reminded that the Ukrainian side provided all the materials regarding the extradition of Bohdan Danylyshyn, reports Podrobnosti.
In late October the General Prosecutor's Office began the extradition of Bohdan Danylyshyn, who was apprehended by Interpol in the Czech Republic, to Ukraine. In mid-August, the General Prosecutor’s Office opened a criminal case on infliction of damages by the ex-Minister in the amount of 4.5 million hryvnia. After this, Interpol put him into the international wanted list. Bohdan Danylyshyn served as Economy Minister from December 2007 to March 2010.
