Lutsenko went in court against General Prosecutor’s Office


Ex-Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko has appealed against the institution of criminal proceedings against him. He said this on Tuesday on Channel 5.

"I hope that well-thinking people still are working in courts who will act under the law. That is why today I has appealed this decision to initiate a criminal case, which is absurd," - said the politician.

"The head of the Ministry, where 300,000 subordinates are working, with the annual budget of 8 billion, conspires with the driver to steal 5,000 US dollars from the state. Well, it is absurd, is not it?" - said Yurii Lutsenko.

As reported MIGnews.com.ua, former Interior Minister Yurii Lutsenko was questioned by investigators of the General Prosecutor's Office yesterday, on November 9 on the case of embezzlement by misuse of official position.

"What about the driver, is he also being questioned?" journalists asked Yurii Lutsenko. "Of course, we are accomplices of the crime! - former Minister was trying to joke.

Representatives of the opposition yesterday, on November 9 called the criminal case against Yurii Lutsenko "political repression".
