The Cabinet of Ministers has set up the Organizing Committee for the preparation and support of the application to the International Olympic Committee to get the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Ukraine. This was stated by Minister of Family, Youth and Sports Ravil Safiullin.
The purpose of the Cabinet's resolution is to create appropriate conditions for the successful participation of Ukraine in a bidding to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games. "The work of the Organizing Committee will let develop and approve a plan for preparation and support of the application to the International Olympic Committee at the highest organizational level," - the minister noted.
Safiullin believes that this will allow to ensure the comprehensive interaction of government agencies responsible for holding international sports events in the country, with non-government organizations, citizens and subjects of the system of physical culture and sports in the preparation of necessary materials.
Earlier, President Viktor Yanukovych said that Ukraine will exert every effort to get the right to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in the Carpathians. In 2014 Ukraine intends to apply for participation in the contest to host the Winter Olympics in 2022. The concept of preparation for the Winter Olympics 2022 was presented in Lviv last month. The total cost of measures needed for the Olympic preparations is some USD 12 billion with the bulk of funds planned as investments. UKRINFORM
