Ukrainians will not work during the Christmas and New Year holidays on January 1-3 and January 7-9, 2011, but there will not be an extended period of holidays next year, Labor and Social Policy Ministry spokesman Mykhailo Kukhar has said.
"Christmas holidays are not expected. This means that the working days after the New Year will not be [moved]," he told Interfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.
Kukhar said that all working days to be moved next year have been stipulated in a respective government resolution. According to the document, working days on Monday, March 7, and Monday, June 27, will be moved to Saturday, March 12, and Saturday, June 25, respectively.
According to part 3, Article 67 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, a day off on Saturday, January 1, will be postponed until Monday, January 3.
