Kyiv Polytechnic Institute has become the best university in Ukraine in the rating of Top 200 Ukraine. The second and third places are taken by the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University and Kharkiv Vasyl Karazin National University. The rankings has being made for the fourth time by the UNESCO Chair “Higher Technical Education, Applied Systems Analysis and Informatics” on the basis of the memorandum signed with UNESCO CEPES in 2005, said the head of project Top 200 Ukraine Olesia Lenovytska.
According to her, activity of the university is determined by the integrated index of rating in the method proposed by the UNESCO Chair. This index includes three integrated components: an index of quality of scientific and pedagogical potential, the index of the quality of education, as well as an index of international recognition.
According to the rating, the first ten universities are as follows: Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kyiv Taras Shevchenko University, Kharkiv Karazin National University, the National Bohomolets Medical University, National Technical University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, National Mining University, Dnipropetrovsk National University, National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, National University of Bioresources and Nature Management and Donetsk National University.
According to the indicators of quality of teaching, the first three universities are as follows: Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Taras Shevchenko University, and Kyiv Hetman National Economic University. As for the quality of scientific and pedagogical potential, the first three universities are as follows. Taras Shevchenko University, Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Medical Bohomolets University. According to the index of international recognition, the three leaders are Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Kharkiv Karazin University and the National University Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute, writes Zerkalo nedeli.
