Somali pirates have received a $5.5 million ransom for a German-operated tanker, the Marida Marguerite, which was held for eight months, the Sovfracht Maritime Bulletin Internet Publication reported on Tuesday.
The bulletin said that the ship will be soon released.
The Marida Marguerite, a ship flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was seized by Somali pirates in the Gulf of Aden on May 8. There were 22 crewmembers onboard, including 19 Indians, two citizens of Bangladesh and one Ukrainian. Interfax-Ukraine
