Holosiivskyi District Court in Kyiv chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention on remand for a citizen of Azerbaijan, Rovshan Janiev, known as the criminal authority nicknamed Rovshan Lenkoranskyi. This is said in the press service of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in the Interior Ministry.
The court took such a decision on Tuesday, September 28, reports Ukranews.
As a reminder, on September 15 the police re-apprehended Rovshan Janiev in Kyiv. During the search police found two fake passports - a citizen of Ukraine and foreign passport.
The investigation department of the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime in the Interior Ministry in Kyiv instituted criminal proceedings for the crime under paragraphs 2 and 3 of Article 358 (using fake documents) of the Criminal Code.
The first time police apprehended Rovshan Janiev in December 2009, after that he was extradited to Azerbaijan. Rovshan Janiev is considered one of the most influential Caucasian criminal authorities.
