The worst election forecasts have come true in Ukraine in 2007. Many experts supposed this short election campaign would be sufficiently strict, hard-edged and dirty. Moreover, many people presupposed dirty provocations and even attentates would be definitely used in this very election campaign.

When it became clear pre-term elections were inevitable, authorities began to make statements about poisoning, about work preventing…Interior Minister declared “somebody made him ill”. But events which have occurred today, unfortunately, have become tragic.Somebody has attempted the life of “KUCHMA” bloc headquarters deputy chief in the Autonomous Republic Crimea, member of “KUCHMA” election Bloc of the parties (under 21^st number in the election list) Alexander Shaiderov today in the morning.

His father – Feodosia mayor and Alexander Shaiderov himself are well-known people in the Crimea. Recently prosecutor office tried to bring some actions against Feodosia mayor. Also he was under the string pressure.

After his son decided to continue the hand on the lamp of his father – the hard-edged struggle against corruption (a principal question aroused by these principled persons was concerned with money in the local budget in Feodosia which disappear and are not returned to people) – he got “the last warning” a few days ago.

Particularly, Alexander Shaiderov was threatened by phone. Unknowns warned politician if he did not leave political struggle, he would got into troubles. Unfortunately, it has happened today. The car ran into the car Alexander Shaiderov was going by suddenly as always in our country. It has happened on the level road without any on-path irregularity. There was no road or meteorological reasons which would provoke an accident.

This “accident” has much in common with many other resonance traffic accidents where politicians took part: either KamAZes “suddenly” block the road or somebody goes to the centre strip “suddenly” also. These traffic accidents remain unsolved crimes. Everybody got used to it already…

In accordance with this accident the leaders of election bloc of parties “KUCHMA” declared the lawyers of the bloc would control investigation of this crime as soon as possible.

The leaders of the bloc warn all law enforcement in the Crimea: if this crime is not investigated, and guilty people are not punished, “KUCHMA” bloc has the right to act in accordance with legislation.

At the same time followers of “KUCHMA” bloc have already started today a vigil of prosecutor office in the Crimea. If measures are not taken into account concerning investigation of this crime, perpetual protest action will be started.

“KUCHMA” bloc applies to prosecutor officials and law enforcement: stop the war of violence against political parties and blocs, stop dirty election campaign!

At the same time Bloc “KUCHMA” calls the citizens “to pray for health of people who is hanging between life and death”.
