The Honored Master of Sport Ivan Freydun won the silver medal at the World Powerlifting Championship. The world championship in powerlifting is being held from 2 to 7 November in the Indian city of New Delhi, Chairman of the Lviv Regional Powerlifting Federation Ihor Buben reported.
Freydun who took part in these competitions in the weight category up to 100 kg, won a gold medal for the exercise "bench press", taking the weight 290 kg, Korrespondent reports.
At the same time Freydun won two silver medals in the exercises "tugging" and "squats" and also won the silver medal in the total score of three exercises, with the result of 1,025 kg, according to Buben.
Russian Konstantin Lebedko gained gold medal in the Championship on the total score of three exercises with a result 1,027,5 kg. Serhiy Pevnev from Berdiansk gained bronze medal in the fight with the result of 992.5 kg.
