Last chance for Yushchenko – state of emergency. Militaries to assist him
Influenza epidemic, raging in Ukraine, provided the President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko the last chance to stay in his post. Former deputy chairman of Security Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Oleksandr Skipalsky calls on the Head of the state to use the chance and impose a state of emergency to postpone the presidential elections.
Oleksandr Skipalsky believes that the central authorities have not reacted on the epidemiological risk of influenza promptly and effectively, as again confirmed the ineffectiveness of their work. He noted that he and the military around him are ready to provide support to Viktor Yushchenko. "We (the military) are ready at this stage to offer him hand (support), to rouse the experienced people among the military, the generals and to put order in the country" - said the former deputy chairman of the SBU.
Oleksandr Skipalsky added that if the President does not do it, he and the militaries from his surrounding still be prepared for such a scenario. But he also believes that Viktor Yushchenko is to postpone presidential elections, because on conditions of the existing ban on public performances candidates for President can not make agitation, Ukrainian News reported.
