Russian intelligence service made a serious accusatory statement addressed to Ukraine, Israel and NATO. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the General Staff of Armed Forces Lieutenant General Alexander Shliakhturov claims that Georgia continues to receive arms and military equipment from NATO countries, Israel and Ukraine.
"According to our information, Georgia, as well as before the events in August 2008, continues to receive military assistance from NATO countries, Israel and Ukraine. NATO countries, particularly Eastern European States –NATO members or, as they are called, young NATO members, are providing Georgia mostly with small arms and ammunition. U.S. troops are training the Georgian army according to NATO tactics, Israel provides Georgia with pilotless vehicles, and Ukraine - heavy stores, including tanks and air defenses, "- said the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
"Ukraine's arms supplies to Georgia are being carried out not without the knowledge and higher patronage of the Ukrainian leadership. Still, it is not the state policy" – InterMediaKonsalting cites Alexander Shliakhturov.
