The long-suffering Ukrainian people went through regular informational (i.e. psychological) attack with the beginning of a flu epidemic in Ukraine and identification of virus type A/H1N1 (also known as Californian and swine flu).
Today panic and mess actually dominate in Ukraine, which actively are stirred up by politicians and statesmen, while in other countries, people get sick and are treated in a quiet mode following the clear instructions of doctors.
But in all this chaos – before elections and epidemic - MIGnews.com.ua conducted its own investigation and discovered a very interesting document on the official website of the company producing drug Tamiflu. The document which was published on the site on July 1 2009, sheds light on many things, including the way how the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko managed to agree on such a low price for a drug in such a short time.
We will not retell the entire document of three pages (see below). The most important thing is as follows: "Under the TRP program, Roche will produce and store Tamiflu pandemic stockpiles for specified developing countries at a significantly reduced price with the cost spread over a number of years. Roche will then ship the stockpile to the governments of countries concerned when an influenza pandemic has been announced, or in the event of a public health emergency, upon request from the governments concerned. The countries can exercise their option to purchase the product at any time."
"The full price per pack of 10 Tamiflu capsules, excluding any local duties, taxes or tariffs, is:
• 5 to 6 Euros per 75 mg pack,
• 3 to 3.65 Euros per 45 mg pack, and
• 2 to 2.55 Euros per 30 mg pack."
"Countries eligible for the TRP are: Afghanistan, Angola, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Congo, Congo, Dem Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Georgia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Kenya, Kiribati, DPR Korea , Kyrgyz Republic, Lao PDR, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Moldova, Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, São Tomé e Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Timor Leste, Togo, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe."
As a reminder, earlier Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claimed that Ukraine had managed to get the product only through the efforts of the government, in particular, the Minister Petro Poroshenko, who promptly flew to Switzerland for talks on purchase of a drug basing on producer prices.
And here is rather a natural question: whether the treaty was the occasion for the next PR of the government and Yulia Tymoshenko before the election? It is likely that the so-called advisers of a candidate for President have not expected that someone will go to the official website of the producer and find the usual document where many developing countries are mentioned, but not only Ukraine ...
In fact, it turns out that the epidemic of swine influenza does not precisely exist, but there is an excess of the epidemiological threshold for the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections, but not of mortality! This was stated in the report of Prime Minister, it was stated by the Ministry of Health. Everything else can be regarded as trivial tricks for money and earning money.
