Nobody has reached an agreement with the pirates on release of crew from Ukrainian ship Ariana, newspaper Segodnya cites ship owner Spyros Minos as saying.
According to the Greek, hostages are being constantly provided with water, food and fuel, but the pirates do not contact regularly. "The last conversation was with them yesterday, but I cannot tell you when the crew will be released. A few warships are watching the ship, they control the situation", - said Spyros.
"We wrote letters asking for assistance in the release of the crew. But neither President nor the Prime Minister responded. And on last Thursday, the delegation of relatives of the crew went to Kyiv. There we organized a picket. Only Petro Poroshenko and Serhiy Tyhypko promised to help ", - said Natalia Lupacheva, the wife of the third mechanical engineer of Ariana ship Oleksandr Lupachev and mother of the second assistant captain Serhiy Lupachev.
"We were invited into Ukrkruing and had a telephone talk with the ship owner Spyros Minos. We talked to him last Friday, "- says Lupacheva. "Minos told us that earlier pirates agreed to get US $3 mn, now they require US $10 mn! That is why he has not agreed with them. But he promised to arrange everything before the end of the week", - said mother of electric welder Oleksandr Yuryn Elena.
According to Natalia Lupacheva, the ship owner said recently that the seized vessel weighed anchor and committed some maneuvers. But then again, it sank near the Somali port of Hobyo.
