In the Lviv Region A/H1N1 flu was found in the bodies of two people out of 29 dead within two weeks, first deputy chairman of the Lviv regional council Roman Ilyk reported yesterday, on November 2 at the meeting of heads of factions of the Lviv regional council.
Prosecutor General's Office having based on the verification of compliance with fiscal and financial laws by officials of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for the use of state budget funds allocated for counteraction of spreading influenza A/(H1N1) in the territory of Ukraine, has opened a criminal case on violation of fight with epidemics and official negligence, causing severe consequences of offenses under Part 2 of Art. 325 and Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Director of the Ukrainian Center for Influenza Olexander Hrynevych noted the importance of timely immunization to prevent influenza. According to him, the second wave is expected in January-February 2010.
There is no epidemic of swine flu in Ukraine, told the chief sanitary doctor Oleksander Bilovol in the air of ICTV TV channel. According to him, "the epidemic of influenza and acute respiratory disease is observed in the western regions. Especially in 11 regions, where the threshold is exceed almost by 15 percents, - said the chief sanitary doctor. - In other regions, there are indexes which were in 2007-2008" , - said Oleksander Bilovol.
According to him, as a result of the epidemic, according to latest figures, 71 people died. Chief sanitary doctor reported that there were 14 cases of influenza A/H1N1 which were confirmed in the laboratories. "Three people, who died, had A/H1N1 influenza", - Ukrainskaya Pravda cites Oleksander Bilovol as saying.
Yesterday, on November 2 Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko claimed at the meeting with Ukrainian producers of medicines: "They say today that there is an epidemic of swine flu, while only 14 cases of infection with the virus have been identified. The epidemic of seasonal influenza is in Ukraine," writes the newspaper Kommersant-Ukraine.
According to the operative data of the Ministry of Health, as of 05:00 p.m. on November 2 in Ukraine, more than 255,000 patients with influenza or acute respiratory viral infections have been recorded. Out of them more than 120,000 are children. More than 15,000 people are hospitalized. 235 people are in the grave condition.

As a reminder, on October 28 flu epidemic in the Ternopil Region, which had appeared a week ago, mowed down nearly 10,000 of residents. Moreover - unknown virus has already killed seven people. Ministry of Health has confirmed 20 deaths from pneumonia in Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk and Lviv Regions.
