In connection with the activities of extremist organization Al-Takfir wal-Hijra in Crimea, there are legal grounds to bring criminal charges of organizing a criminal group, said Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Crimea Hennady Moskal in the air of 5 Kanal yesterday, on October 27.
He also noted that there are legal grounds to bring charges of banditry in connection with the activities of this organization. However, as Hennady Moskal stressed, militia does not have the right to prosecute members of this group for participation in it, because it is not required by law.
He said that he had introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a bill which would prohibit the adoption of such groups and organizations in the courts, Ukrainian News reported.
06:20 p.m. General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea has denied involvement of Russian special services, political parties or individual politicians to the activities of the Crimean extremists, is reported by the PR Center of the General Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea "in connection with the statement of some of the Crimean politicians that Russia's security services related to the activities of the extremist organization Al-Takfir-wal-Hijra in Crimea".
Besides, Crimean militia noted, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on the territory of Russia prohibited the activities of radical political party Hizb-ut-Tahrir, an extremist organization and Al-Takfir-wal-Hijra.
General Directorate of Interior Ministry considers the statements of politicians as "their personal views on the processes taking place in the Crimea, which have nothing in common with the official position of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine," UNIAN reports.
As MIGnews.com.ua reported, earlier Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko claimed that the group, referring to the radical movement Taliban and Al-Qaeda, was preparing an attempt on the life of the chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatars Mustaf Dzhemylev.
