On October 22 the judge Vitali Sapyga was appointed in the Lviv Appeal Administrative Court, which earlier was headed by Ihor Zvarych, Glavred citing sources in the Prosecutor's Office. The judge, who worked as a judge in Stryiskyi city district court (Lviv Region), six months ago was suspected of taking a bribe in the amount of US $300.
Information about the appointment of a new judge in the Lviv Administrative Court of Appeal was confirmed in the court.
A spokesman for the Lviv Appeal Administrative Court Olha Davyd reported that the judge Vitali Sapyga was appointed to one of the vacant seats. "Prior to this appointment 20 judges worked in the Lviv appeal administrative court. We have 21 judges now. But the court needs 76 judges," - the court employees noted. Consequently, the remaining 55 seats in the court are vacant.
As a reminder, according to the press service of the Prosecutor General Office of Ukraine of April 8, 2009, Lviv region prosecutor's office instituted criminal proceedings against the judge of regional court in Lviv region, which was caught on bribery. The judge was caught taking a bribe from a local resident for making decisions about divorce.
At the same time, the press service of the prosecutor's office in the Lviv region reported that the judge mentioned above has already appealed the decree on the institution of criminal proceedings.
