The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has paid Donetsk and Mariupol bonus at the total sum amounting to EUR 150,000 for the high attendance at the matches during the final of the European Championship in 2009 among 19-year-old football players in the Donetsk region. The first vice-president of the Football Federation of Ukraine Olexander Bandurko claimed this.
The certificates to receive bonuses were solemnly presented to the chairman of the Donetsk regional council Anatoly Blyznyuk and Donetsk mayor Olexander Lukyanchenko. Bonuses are given for a record attendance at the matches and will be divided evenly between the two hosting cities of the Donetsk region - Donetsk and Mariupol.
He also said that UEFA highly appreciated the high level of organization of the Youth European Championship-2009.
Over 100,000 fans visited the championship in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian News reported.
