The Ukrainian superheavyweight boxer Wladimir Klitschko is obliged to hold the duel with Russian Alexander Povetkin till the end of 2010. The International Boxing Federation made a decision about it, UNIAN reports with reference to ITAR-TASS.
According to the version of IBF, Wladimir Klitschko is the world champion and Alexander Povetkin is an official pretender.
Russian had to meet with Klitschko junior who owns the title of WBO version in late 2008. However, while preparing for the duel Alexander Povetkin was severely injured, and the duel was canceled.
In December 2008 Wladimir Klitschko knocked out American Hasim Rahman, in June 2009 – Ruslan Chagaev, and his duel with Alexander Povetkin was put off till autumn 2009. However, the duel did not take place again because Ukrainian was injured.
In early 2010 Wladimir Klitschko is to hold the duel with official pretender of WBO American Eddy Chambers. According to Ukrainian boxer, the duel will take place at late in April.
