A great number of proceedings have been accumulated in the European Court of Human Rights.

The director general of the department for democracy and political affairs at the Council of Europe Jean-Luis Loran is concerned about receipt of a great number of proceedings from Ukraine to the European Court of Human Rights. He told about it at a press conference.

“It is necessary to make more efforts to reduce receipt proceedings from Ukraine to the European Court of Human Rights because a great number of proceedings have been accumulated now, and cases are being tried for a very long time”, he said.

It is necessary for Ukrainian court to follow norms of European convention for the protection of human rights, Ukrayinski novyny cites Jean-Luis Loran as saying.
