The investigation of the case on the death of reporter Ihor Pelykh is completed. When the accused Oleg Kyryllov, driver of the car where reporter died, familiarizes himself with case papers, it will be sent to court, the head of PR Center of the Main Directorate of Interior Ministry in Kyiv Volodymyr Polishchuk said.
According to the Institute of mass information, Volodymyr Polishchuk noted: “According to the Criminal Procedural Code, after investigation is finished, all case papers will be given to lawyer and the accused. As soon as they familiarize themselves with papers, the case will be sent to the court. They can do it both during half a year and a few days”.
According to him, the charge is brought according to 286 article, third part of Criminal Code of Ukraine. Infringment of traffic rules leading to death of people is being punished at the term from 7 to 12 years with a deprivation of right to drive.
According to Volodymyr Polishchuk, the accused is mentally healthy. Earlier Oleg Kyryllov stated the traffic accident took place because of epileptic seizure and he underwent treatment in Pavlova hospital within a month.
Militia officials intended to appeal to the court to put Oleg Kyryllov into the wanted list but the driver and his lawyer went to the Holoseevo militia district department.
As a reminder, on May 8 Ukrainian journalist, TV presenter and producer Ihor Pelykh, 35 died as a result of a traffic accident in Kyiv on May 8.
