As MIGnews.com.ua correspondent has known, yesterday late at night about 22:00 p.m. the attempt on the life of famous businessman Gennadiy Korban was committed near Zhovtnevaya hostel in Dnepropetrovsk city. As our correspondent from Dnepropetrovsk informs, this person takes part in regional council elections in Dnepropetrovsk under the second number in Our Ukraine party list.
Militia public relations centre in Dnepropetrovsk confirmed information that the attack on life of the famous businessman happened, but he was not Igor Kolomoyskiy, as Ukraine criminal and Ukrainian truth had informed earlier. MIGnews.com.ua correspondent has known that Igor Kolomoyskiy, Privat-group joint owner, is abroad now.
13.58. The details of the accident became known. As ORD site informs, an attempt to Korban’s life happened yesterday at 22:15 p.m. The plotter was shooting Mercedes S 500, by gun AK-76 from the roof of garage near SSU parking. He made 3 shots, militia founded 27 cases of 7,62 caliber and gun, which was thrown down.
Mercedes was damaged 25 times. The killer was not detained. Gennadiy Korban was just frightened, but his security, Taras Yermackov, was not very lucky. He got chest injury, small of the back and left shank are injured. The ORD site, making a reference to experts’ viewpoint, gives three versions of causes committing an attempt to the life.
The first version. Dnepropetrovsk officials discuss the question on taking away Party of regions from taking part in elections. Recently Gennadiy Korban had a meeting with high official, Party of regions headquarters member and had a conflict with him. The second version is conflict, concerned with Ozerka market in Dnepropetrovsk. And the third version is a conflict, concerned with the Nickopol ferroalloys factory.
Experts suppose also that the attempt on Korban’s life looks like a message to Igor Kolomoyskiy, Head of Privat group. It would not be difficult to attempt on Kolomoyskiy’s life also. He has been living in Ukraine and holds meetings in Dnepropetrovsk.
Naturally, in accordance with this incident we are surprised by the Interior Ministry, who are not able to defend citizens. Probably, the last pre-elections week is to be heated.
11.50 As Levantsov Yevgeniy Nickolayevich, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry PR centre in Dnepropetrovsk region senior inspector has informed, unknown person shot down Mercedes at number 4 on Shevchencko square. Ordinary citizens have been called to militia at 22:15 p.m. on March, 19.
The senior inspector confirmed once more time that “there were Korban, candidate for deputy, 1972 born, and his security guard. He got some gunshot wounds to the small of the back and to the left knee”.
Ambulance car hospitalized the security guard to the Mechnikov hospital. There are no more victims.
The prosecutor office in Zhovtnevy district in Dnepropetrovsk initiated the criminal case on two articles – the 15th article and 115th article the first part of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (attempt to the premeditated murder).

They say Korban did not suffer from this accident, but, according to some data, he is injured. Now correspondents manage to specify this information. Besides, one of Korban’s securities got severe injury – chest injury, small of the back‘s injury and left shank is injured. He is hospitalized into the regional Mechnikov hospital. Gennadiy Korban, being at the post of Slavutich-capital company supervisory board’s chairman, was one of the leading people, safeguarding Privat-group interests concerning the trial on Nickopol ferroalloys factory (NFF). It is obvious that situation, concerned with posters NFF-to the peace agreement, hanging all around the country, took a bad turn.
Now it is possible to be quite sure that yesterday’s events in Dnepropetrovsk mean the beginning of the new war. It is hard to imagine what kind of war it will be – economical or political one. But it is clear that politics and economics are interconnected, and it can lead to such accidents, as an attempt to somebody’s life….
